Here at Pendle Slot Racing we often get asked about the difference between Scalextric Analogue and Digital 1/32 scale racing. Here is our brief overview explaining the features of Scalextric ANALOGUE and DIGITAL.
Scalextric Analogue
ANALOGUE is the original and most popular type of racing that Scalextric is best known for.
Generally two cars racing on a two lane circuit
Only one car can race on each lane
Each car is restricted to only one of the lanes
ANALOGUE uses the same SPORT track as DIGITAL
It is possible to convert your ANALOGUE circuit to DIGITAL
Scalextric Digital
DIGITAL adds a new dimension to racing slot cars. The concept is exactly the same as ANALOGUE, however you can race multiple cars on the circuit at once You can also overtake and block other cars by switching lanes at the lane change sections by pressing a button on your digital hand controller.
Multiple cars can race on the circuit at the same time
Cars can race on the same lane as other cars
Cars can change lanes to overtake at the push of a button on the hand controller
Each car needs to be fitted with a Scalextric DIGITAL Plug
Additional DIGITAL track items required - Lane changers, hand controllers, powerbase and power supply
DIGITAL uses the same SPORT track as ANALOGUE
